Mori Festival 2025 (Morimachi) – Day 3 Maigo-gaeshi

Day 3 was rainy from the morning... In the evening comes the climax, "Maigo-gaeshi": the traditional ritual of sending the maigo (child dancers) who served at Mishima Shrine ⛩️ 👩‍🦰🧑‍🦰 back to their homes. At the signal of fireworks, floats carrying the maigo leave the three shrines one after another. The rain had just stopped, and the sight of the floats moving through the damp, Showa-retro shopping street has an indescribable charm.
